I am saddened to hear Kenny passed away. I "met" him by reading about his contributions to Rondstadt (& Waldman & Bonoff) back in the 70s & soon after when Karla came out w/ her own albums. He & his music & his contributions to making others sound good will be missed.

Kenny and Karla opened a show at Humphries in San Diego for us (Michael McDonald) in 2002. I love love Karla's music of course but the combo of her and Kenny was just amazing. I was struck right away by his musical versatility and how well he complimented Karla's songs. I met both him and Karla and they were both fantastic people. I'm honored to have met and heard Kenny. God Bless him and his family and friends. Bernie Chiaravalle

I am so sorry to hear about Kenny's death. Boy, as an outsider, it seemed to be diagnosed and death happened so fast. I truly enjoyed his music and Resurrection Road is fabulous. I hope he realized his impact on today's music and what a great influence he was on Miss R's career.
Kenny will be missed, I'm sure, in his circle of friends and family; but as an outsider like me, he will also be missed.
May he rest in peace and God Bless Kenny.

I was so saddened to hear about Kenny's passing. I have been a fan for many years spanning back to the 70's. I live in Australia and I wish I had been able to see Kenny perform in person, but his music will live on and inspire many more people for many more years. I send all my warmest wishes and thoughts to Kenny's family and friends.

I never met Kenny. But I saw him perform with Karla Bonoff twice near Washington, DC, and I've spent many hours listening to their music.
Kenny was an outstanding musician. His guitar playing was precise and passionate. And while I don't know how much to credit him versus Karla B., several of the songs they created together are as powerful and moving as popular music gets.
Sadly, it's too late to express my appreciation to Kenny. But to all of you who had anything to do with Kenny's life and his work -- thank you. Directly or indirectly, you have made my life better. And, now, sadder.

My heart goes out to the friends and family of Kenny. I will miss him dearly. I've always admired his talent. I first learned of Kenny back in the 70's when he was in Linda Ronstadt's band. I've followed his career from there on and enjoyed his musicianship greatly. The music world has truly lost a great talent. I luv you Kenny!

I heard Bryndle March 10, 2007 in Kirkland, WA.; after the show I went to the stage and took the set list piece of paper for Kenny and Karla to sign...the concert staff were giving me a hard time about it and Kenny said, no problem, we'll sign it. A gentle act of kindness that I'll remember to this day...thank you for the wonderful music you gave in this life...

My heart is broken. While Kenny may not have been a household name,he was the rock that caused so many wonderful ripples, the light that shined on the public stars, the foundation that held up the house of the singers, songwriters and musicians I cut my teeth on. Thank you for bringing such comfort and joy into my life.

The first time I heard Bryndle was on July 24, 1996 and was very fortunate to see them again at Russ & Julie's House Concert. I had the pleasure to talk to Kenny for a few minutes in the kitchen and was amazed at what a down to earth person he was. I am sorry to hear that he passed away. My condolences to his family and extended family. He & his music touched so many lives. Memory Eternal.

It was the mid-70s and I was 15 and wanted to BE Linda Ronstadt in the worst possible way when I met Kenny for the first time with my still best friend Lynn. We went to her gig idolizing her in our rapt teenage worshipping way ....and left that nite having become acquainted with (& crazy about) Kenny. Every time he came to town over the next few years Kenny had tickets and passes for us. We hung out in totally & surprisingly "age appropriate" ways even tho I had a mad crush on him for the longest time and still do. Eventually all of our lives changed and we never saw each other again. But I thought of him often and always will. Once you know Kenny, your heart can never let him go.....

I was very sorry to learn of Kenny's death from an online
obituary. I had the pleasure of
hearing Kenny accompany Karla
Bonoff numerous times at the
Sellersville Theater. I also
spoke with him outside the theater
on one occasion. He was very
gracious and receptive to my
comments. Kenny and Karla were
a cohesive duo. He accentuated her
songs with lovely accompaniment on
acoustic/electric guitar, bass and
mandolin. His legacy is rather
considerable. I send my heartfelt
condolences to both his family
and friends.

Rest in peace Kenny, you and your friends touched more people in more ways than you ever could have known. Your music made me sing, dance, laugh, smile and cry- and it still does. There's no need to wonder where you have gone; you can be found in the soundtrack for so many people's lives. You might not have set out to accomplish this, but through your music you have truly come as close to immortality as any person can. Thank you.

I met Kenny thru a friend in 1965. He taught me to play guitar and I ended up buying his Gibson J50 when he needed money. I still have it altho I don't play anymore.
We spent many happy hours playing, singing and "jamming" at McCabes in Santa Monica. He was young and
unbelieveably talented...could play anything he picked up, including sitar (which interested him at the time.) I was so happy when he was successful with the Stone Poneys, but lost track of him after that. I saw he passed away this morning on tv. I am very sad. He was so young. Rest ye well, Kenny, rest ye well.

I enjoy listening to my Brydle CD all the time. What a wonderful collaboration! I enjoyed seeing them all together at Riverbend in Chattanooga several years ago, and saw Karla and Kenny just a couple of years ago, again in Chattanooga. The Ronstadt music has always been among my favorites. Kenny blessed my world with much music. I thank the Lord for his musical gifts.

Such very sad news. I saw him last spring playing, with Freebo and Julie Christensen, as part of the after-hours show during the LA Acoustic Music Festival on the Santa Monica Pier. In that intimate setting, it was impossible not to be impressed not only with his remarkable musicianship and brilliant songwriting he was, but also what a dear man he was -- a generous collaborator, engaging performer, and sweet spirit. He'll be missed, and remembered in his own self-created memorial: those lovely songs and the fond remembrance of his musical (and non-musician) friends and admirers. I'm one of them.

Kenny's passing -- oh, man, this is sad, sad news.
I remember many "Kenny Edwards" introductions by Linda Ronstadt from the stage over the years. He always seemed such a solid, calm center for her band, Could the man play -- and sing.
His brand of quality, professional playing may be overlooked or even sneered at by the rock cognoscenti, but we all know what an enormously talented, consummate musician he really was. His vital contributions to Linda's music, and his own music, will live on every time it is played. And in my house that's almost a daily occurrence.
I'll have my own memorial for him today, playing Bryndle's eponymous CD and Linda's Hasten Down the Wind.

I met Kenny two years ago when he visited our little town in south-central Colorado at the behest of his old friend Jill Whitmore, who had moved here from Santa Barbara. He and Jill asked me to MC a local performance and provide some back-up on snare and hi-hat. Last year, Kenny returned, and again I was privileged to MC and perform with him and Jill.
What a lovely man was Kenny. I saw him first way back when in Chicago, backing Linda Ronstadt, but little did I know what a wonderful guitarist and songwriter he was then. In my brief friendship with Kenny, I saw his humility, his humor and his talent in equal measure. He was a treasure.

Like so manny, we've for so long so enjoyed hearing and talking with Kenny in so many places, and are now grateful for having taken advantage of every chance we had while he was with us. It's only recently I've come to understand why it was that no venue in the world seemed too small to Kenny. It was because his heart was so huge. Our condolences and prayers for his family and many friends, all over the world.

So very sad to learn of Kenny's passing. He was the consumate performer; in the background usually; stable and supportive and constant. Someone we all want on our side. I saw him with Linda Ronstadt, with Karla Bonoff, and with Bryndle over the years. A beautiful steady man with a generous heart. We will miss you, Kenny. Rest In Peace.

Kenny was my husband from 1982 to 1990. He was one of the finest all-around musicians I ever knew. Kenny was always a kind, gentle soul with an incredible sense of humor, quick wit, and unbelievable knowledge of the English language. The reality is that these are qualities he possessed, but his true gift was his deep spiritual roots that translated through his contribution to the California rock musical community. May Kenny find joy in sharing his music with the angels now...
Thank you Kenny for the music, the love, and the laughter - Liza

Kenny was a really kind man of understated greatness
when he played, every note was always true
his fingers glided over each fret and spoke straight from his heart in a way no one else I've ever known could do.
With many wonderful memories of playing and listening into the night, it's really true, I never heard Kenny hit a "wrong" note. There was a fluency and comtional coherency to everything he played and sang. Integrity, i think.

I'm very sad today. I worked with Kenny a couple of times -- booked a concert with him and Eilen Jewell at Linnaea's Cafe in San Luis Obispo CA in Dec. '07, and featured him on a songwriters showcase in Paso Robles this past February. Both times I felt honored that an artist of his level of accomplishment would play the little venues I book. In February, I knew he was going through chemo, and I could tell he was ailing, but his performance was strong and passionate, particularly his guitar work. I'm grateful to have presented him.

Again, so sorry for you here without his hand to hold. Fortune that his art leaves you with his voice, his image to revisit. I know it is WAY to soon to arrange, or maybe even do at at all, but maybe the show that was sheduled with Karla on Sept 5th, can still go on, without him there, but in his honor, bring up more artists that worked with him, I'll go, was gonna anyway, and throw in a little extra to help family with medical costs or whatever. Big musical memorial.

I will cherish those items always as I will the beautiful music they made togehter.
